Hi, it's Aaliyah again. If you have ever seen our booth at a ball game, you already know game day and jerky go together. People walk up between innings with their kids, their friends and their whole crew, and the first question is almost always the same: "Which one should we get?" With 25 flavors on the table, I get it. So I put this guide together for anyone building a game day snack bag, whether you're watching from the bleachers or from your living room.
Why jerky works on game day
Game day snacks have a few jobs. They need to be easy to pass around, they can't make a mess of the couch (well, mostly), and they have to keep people happy through a close game. Jerky checks all of those boxes. You can open a bag, hand out strips and nobody needs a plate.
Ours is small batch carne seca, made by my family here in Albuquerque with thin cut beef, a heavy hand on the seasoning and a long, slow dry. That thin cut makes it easy to share, and the seasoning means every strip actually tastes like something.
Know the heat scale first
Every flavor on our menu has a heat level from 0 to 5. Here's the quick way I think about it for a group:
- 0 to 1 is for everyone, including the kids and anyone who says "no spice, please."
- 2 to 3 is a friendly warm up. You'll feel it, but it won't take over.
- 4 is hot. This is for the people who put chile on everything.
- 5 is for the fiends. Seriously.
A good game day bag usually covers at least two of these ranges, so nobody gets left out.
The crowd pleasers (heat 0 to 1)
If you're feeding a mixed group, start here. These are the flavors that disappear first when kids are around.
- Honey Teriyaki (0) is sweet, sticky and savory. It's our gateway flavor for the kids and the grandmas, and it's one of our top sellers.
- Garlic Parm (0) brings roasted garlic and nutty parmesan. Mellow on the heat, loud on the flavor. Another top seller.
- Teriyaki (0) gives you a savory teriyaki glaze on tender, thin cut beef.
- Salt (0) is simple and beefy for the purists in the group.
- Lemon Pepper (1) is bright lemon and cracked black pepper, a classic that never gets old.
- Salt x Pepper (1) is the classic pair, and it's hard to argue with.
The middle of the lineup (heat 2 to 3)
This is where New Mexico really shows up. If your crew grew up on chile, these are a safe bet.
- Green (3) is our classic New Mexico green chile carne seca. Earthy, bright and just the right burn.
- Red (3) has deep, smoky red chile flavor.
- X-Mas (3) is red and green together, Christmas style, for the people who can't choose.
- Green Chili Ranch (2) is cool ranch seasoning with a mellow green chile warmth. Ranch and game day? Come on.
- Tajin Limon (2) has that chile lime seasoning with a bright limon finish.
- Hot Cheeto Pickle (3) is dill pickle tang meeting hot cheeto heat. It sounds wild, and it sells out anyway.

The snack aisle favorites (heat 4)
Some of our most fun flavors are inspired by the snacks you'd already grab on game day.
- Hot Cheetos (4) packs red hot cheeto dust into every strip. Your fingers will be red and you won't care.
- Takis (4) brings rolled chile lime crunch flavor to thin cut carne seca. Sour, spicy and gone way too fast.
- Mango Habanero (4) is sweet mango up front and a slow habanero burn on the way out.
All three of these are top sellers, which tells you something about how much people love a little heat with their game.
For the heat chasers (heat 5)
Every group has that one person. You know the one. These are for them.
- X-Hot Green (5) is our hottest green chile jerky, green chile stacked on more green chile. It's also one of our top sellers.
- Hot Mamma Cheeto (5) is Hot Mamma heat plus hot cheeto dust. Double trouble.
- X-Hot Green Chili Lime Salt (5) is tangy, salty and very hot.
Have a drink nearby. I'm just saying.
Three easy game day bags
Not sure how to mix it? Here are a few combos I like to suggest at the booth:
- The family section: Honey Teriyaki, Garlic Parm and Lemon Pepper. Zero to low heat, big flavor, happy kids.
- The New Mexico watch party: Green, Red and X-Mas, plus Green Chili Ranch for anyone who wants it a little softer.
- The heat check: Hot Cheetos, Takis, Mango Habanero and one bag of X-Hot Green to see who taps out first.
Small bags are $7 and large bags are $20. For a bigger group, a couple of large bags of the crowd pleasers plus a few smalls of the hot ones is a nice way to cover everyone without overbuying the spicy stuff.
How to get it before kickoff
If you're hosting, the easiest move is to order ahead. Pick your flavors, add them to your cart and send the order in. Someone from the crew texts to confirm, you pay with Cash App, Venmo, Apple Pay or cash, and our dealer drops the order at your door and sends a photo once it's delivered. You can also text or call 505-922-5683 or 505-364-0678 with questions.
If you'd rather grab it in person, we show up at pop ups, festivals and ball games around Albuquerque and Rio Rancho. Check the dealer locator to see where we're posting up next. Our next stop is New Mexico Jerky Fest, Halloween Edition, on Saturday, October 31, 2026 at Isleta Resort & Casino, and we'd love to see you there.

See you at the game
Whether your crew is all about Honey Teriyaki or daring each other to try X-Hot Green, there's a Jerky Fixx flavor for every seat in the house. Thanks for supporting my family's small business, and good luck to your team. Unless they're playing mine.
